Victory Event (Sat 3 May)
The Aylesbury Branch of the Royal British Legion is delighted to invite the public to a very special Victory Event taking place at the Discover Bucks Museum on Saturday 3 May 2025.
This event is FREE – but you do need to book your space to guarantee entry.
The event will begin with a brief service of remembrance at 2:00pm, to be attended by local dignitaries, veterans and cadet groups, before the Ellesborough Silver Band performs a selection of well-known and nostalgic numbers from the 1940s. Weather permitting, this will be followed by a special presentation by the Aylesbury School of Dance. Later in the day, a local female vocalist will serenade attendees with more wartime favourites, with plenty of opportunities for singing along.
A fete will be held in the garden, with craft stalls, and an extensive display of military memorabilia from the Second World War, free crafting events for children, and half-price entry to the Museum during the event.
Refreshments will be available to purchase from the café.
Visitors are encouraged to attend in vintage clothing or uniforms from the period. Anniversaries like this one are a rare occurrence, and the Branch hopes that a great number from the town and further afield will be able to join us as we celebrate it in grand style!
