Due to popular demand on Thursday 9th May join our Keeper of Archaeology, Brett Thorn for a whistle stop personal tour of the new Discover Bucks archaeology gallery - from stone age tools to Roman villas, Viking axes to a medieval hunting horn, and of course, the star of the show, the Lenborough hoard – the largest hoard of Saxon silver coins found in Britain for over 150 years. The walking tour will last approx. 30 minutes, and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions after the tour, as you relax with your cream tea!

Please note this tour was previously ran in February and is being redone due to its popularity.

Enjoy the benefits of being immersed amongst the wondrous woodlands, where the brothers found solace and respite after returning from the frontlines of WW1. Location: Whiteleaf Cross Car Park, HP27 0RP

Timings: Saturday 1 June, 10am - 12pm. The walk will start promptly at 10am so please arrive on time (the car park can become busy, so please allow time to park and share lifts or walk if possible).

~‘Exploring Portraiture’ exhibition : opens 24 May 2024~

Cara’s evocative works range from portraiture to landscapes. She is a renowned and award-winning artist including winning the RUA Gold Medal at the 2021 exhibition at the Ulster Museum.
For her Residency, Cara will create a group of drawn portraits and sketches of local people within the museum and the surrounding town. These may be quick spontaneous sketches or longer studies made onto collages of discarded papers that add another dimension and texture to each portrait. She will be looking for a diverse range of sitters to illustrate the town and its communities today and hopes to engage new audiences with her work.
